Henna is a natural orangey-red dye used extensively for hair care and body adornment in India. It can also be mixed with other natural herbs, like Indigo or Amla, to create shades ranging from red to brown to black (If you wish, you may start by trying our ready mixed 100% Natural Red Hair Dye and Mahogany Hair Dye)
Our henna grows in Rajasthan in India and its green leaves are dried in the shade before being ground to a fine powder. We only sell body art quality henna. It is finely ground and gives the best colour results. In India, the best quality henna is used to make beautiful patterns on hands and feet. Pure, unadulterated henna is really good for your hair. Indians apply it to hair not just for its red colour but for numerous other benefits:
* Boosts hair growth
* Treats dandruff
* Aids restful sleep
* Therapeutic and calming
* Detoxifying
* Soothes headaches, aches, and pains
* Cools scalp and skin & reduces temperature
* Fights infection
To use: Mix henna powder with water to make a paste. Leave in a bowl to release dye for at least one hour and up to 12 hours.
Apply to hair (If using Indigo as well, add it now-just before applying to hair) - leave on hair for at least 1/2 hour and up to 8 hours. Rinse thoroughly.
We recommend a strand and skin test before use for allergy and colour testing. As this is a natural product, exact colours cannot be guaranteed.
