Add/Edit Product Page
Name
This is the name of the product, this is what your customers will see and search for. Try to make it detailed and clear.
Description
This should include all the information a buyer needs to know about your product. Good things to include are size, weight, manufacturer and colour even if it seems obvious from the product image. The words in your description are picked up by search engines so the more detailed you are the more likely customers will find your product.
Tags
These are keywords that link your products together, they are also very important for getting your products seen on search engines. If a customer clicks on the tag link they will be shown other products with the same tag.
Postage and Packaging Band
This is where you determine the price of the postage and packaging for your product. This is done by selecting a postage band which you set up separately from your Admin Panel.
Category
This creates the specific sections of your shop that the products will be grouped in. You can either put the product in an existing category (from the drop down menu) or you can create a new category for your product. This will automatically create the category as a link in your navigation bar.
Mature
If your product could be considered “adult only viewing” or possibly “offensive” then this must be specified here. Setting this to Yes will stop your products going onto Google's product list.
This must be set to yes if your product does not meet the guidelines set out by Google here: http://base.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=61118&hl=en
Attributes
Attributes allow you to have variations of the same product for sale. These are things like size, colour, pattern, material. Each attribute can have a different price and stock quantity. You must have one attribute, quantity and price.
Images
Pictures of your product are very important for attracting customers, they will be also displayed on search engines. You can upload your images in .gif .jpg or .png format, any image you upload will be automatically converted to JPEG format and will be resized to 400x400 pixels.
